Our name reflects the hope of a generation gone by that the land and its strength would become a foundation for many generations. We took the name Hirschel Heritage Farm in 2003 in honor of the Hirschel family who had the farm before we moved in and because they passed it on to a future generation. Our farm currently produces carrots, beets, Butternut squash, and a few varieties of Fingerling potatoes! And hopefully a new crop of farmers in the large flock of grandsons nearby.
The farmer bears a sacred trust –
To love and nurture earth’s thin crust.
It’s secrets deep, it lives and breathes
And yields it’s strength to him who believes.
